Morel Mushrooms.

I hate you all! I've spent close to 40 hours looking and not a single one to be found, I am officially not looking anymore, I really wanted to try them along side some venison but no luck, ill stick to my antlers lol

Don't feel bad Dennis. My brother has the same problem TOO. It must be the area that you guys live in? I live near the AEP public recreation land. It's mostly reclaimed coal mine area, with spoils and a lot of dead Elms. People flock here from all around the state for deer, turkeys and mushrooms. Next year, come down and I will show you the ropes.

I guess, we went out again tonight after my post to know avail, but we did see 30+ deer and got some good pics, and a couple yearlings almost ran right up to us, made the trip worth it
 
I went out monday morning for about 2 hours after work....ended up finding 138 and some pretty nice ones at that. Hopefully, more in store this week...here are some pics.

All I can say is SUCCESS!!! my wife and I went out looking again and she gasp I was like Wtf she said I found one well she found 9, I'm still at 0 lol she said we are even cause I find all the sheds lol also found the biggest sycamore I've ever seen, twas another great day in the woods!

Congrats to your wife! And that tree is huge!
 
There are some oaks in that place they say are 550 years old. The pic doesn't do it justice!

Found 12 Yellow's today and walk my assets off getting those. My knees can't take that crap! All old save two. ALL found around Elm trees.
 
I found about 30 yellows in about 20 minutes yesterday. Half where freshies, the other have had probably been there 2 days.

Im pretty much over it for the year, except i wanted to re-up to have some to cook up for my folks this weekend. Will prob head out one more time in search of some true jumbos
