Ya I should of left those bigger ones. I did find some smaller ones but didn't pick them. First time I've ever had them. How do you cook yours up?

I've sauteed them with venison and onions and basically made stir fry. Rolled in flour and fried in butter was good too. But yea, the bigger ones are just plain tough like leather

My nephew sent me that yesterday. I don't have the time to try that lol

Back when I had a mushroom hot spot or two. My wife dumped the water off the mushrooms several times in our flower bed. She used firewood to make a corral to mark the spot. Next spring 2 blacks came up first and then 3 sponge popped up. If you had an apple tree or a dead elm....might be worth your while to baste the area on occasion.

I did that at home yesterday and Saturday with the mushroom water and leftover crumbs in the bag.

I found four today that were about the size of a coke can. I'd say those are the last of the year for me.

Anyone ever eat pheasant backs? I found a bunch of them today and thought I may go back and harvest them.

Were they worth carrying out of the woods? I found some fresh ones today. Seemed pretty tender to me but I left them on the tree.
