Still gonna be 1000 percent ball sack sticking humid and 80 today. Once in the 40s at night I'll start thinking getting excited.
1000% deer season still starts in 17 days!!!! I can't control the weather.
24 days for me. Have to go to a wedding in Minnesota opening weekend. Who the fugg gets married during deer season. SMH.
Well, we now know who the fugg goes to 'em...lol

Planning on hunting some blue rockets this weekend. That’s teal got peeps that aren’t in the know.
Fast and low! I used to hunt them back before the wall was up at Metzger (or however its spelled). What year was that @jagermeister ? Any clue? I'd guess 94 or 95.
My research showed 55'...so maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it was when they put in the path. Eitger way, when that construction started, I stopped going with my dad. He basically quit waterfowl hunting when that project started.
Honestly I don’t have a clue. Metzger Marsh is still a great spot. Very productive. But man, FULL of hunters! At 11:00 am, the day BEFORE the teal season opener, there was already a guy there setting up his decoys in the marsh. Unbelievable.
Blahaha! Thats funny. Maybe thats why we stopped. I don't remember honestly. I just remember there being construction the last time we hunted it. Maybe one time after that for early teal. Got sprayed more than a few times.

It’s pretty stupid on one wma where you can use any type of boat. Kids spend a night trying to claim a spot and have people come in and set up across from you. Mud boats are the downfall to duck hunting around here, birds get run out w no place to rest. The birds that hang around get sky busted like nobodies business.
Now our fed land is better as no mud motors allowed and you have to paddle off the main bayous. Also only open 4 days out of the week. If you want to have a chance you have to work very hard for them or pay crazy money to lease a private pond.
I will be on fed land Saturday.

It was almost cool enough this morning to imagine being in a stand. If the long range forecast holds, we could see temps in the 40s for opening morning. That's exciting!
All my bucks have shed their velvet, leaves are starting to drop, and a slight smell of fall is in the air. Preparation is in full swing, as we are now, chasing November....
