Well, I'm guessing you're out getting her right now. I'm off to bed. It's supposed to be kinda warm tomorrow, but if you pack her full of ice and keep her cool, I can help butcher her up tomorrow after Ii get home from work. just let me know.
Hopefully you're out there getting your hands bloody right now. It sounds like you hit her good... and she probably didn't go too far. You haven't given us the valuable information about what the blood looked like, though... Was it bright red, dark red, were there bubbles in it, chunks, etc???
Good luck in finding her. I agree with the others, she's laying dead and the little ones won't leave her. You'll prolly find her between where you last found blood and where you saw the little ones but prolly within several yards where you saw them. Jesse is correct, use your nose, it will smell like a fresh meat cooler.
No dice. Just got done showering and calling it a night. Went through all the lantern fuel and two charges on the spotlight. Went back to where the yearlings were and didn't find a thing. Don't know if the mom wasn't dead and they bumped or what. Laid the lantern where I last saw them and did circles with the spotlight like when I mushroom hunt. Nothing. Then procceded to grid the area as best as I could by lantern and in the fog. Fog got pretty heavy by 2:30 so called it a night/morning.
I'll be out after sunrise in the AM trying with daylight but with the temps I fear I screwed the pooch on this one

Hope you find her this morning. Seems odd though the way it sounded I am still sure she's there somewhere. I'd come help but the bills need payed.

Don't throw in the towel yet. You find her this morning and get her skinned out quick and I think you will be alright. She is probably out there. Get a nap. Let the sun come up. You might walk out and darn near trip over her.
Sorry to hear man, but I hope daylight can help you at least find some blood beyond where you lost it. Look for sliding tracks or where she might of stumbled, hair and sides of saplings. A hurt deer often takes the easier routes going mostly downhill sometimes when really sick or mortally wounded. Check creek bottoms TOO. Goodluck, I hope you find her.

At this point, all I can add is good luck brother. I hope you didn't get much rain as there's a good chance that daylight will reveal more for you. Too bad you don't live closer, I'm awake and don't have to be anywhere until nine this morning.
Hope you find her this AM. I agree with everyone, she is probably laying around there somewhere.
Like Ric said, check the creek bottoms. Deer get thirsty when they are hurt and often times, die on the way to water or next to it.

I dont have anything to add but I sure am getting some good tips from this thread. Good luck finding her and keep your head up.
Well I rounded up some buddies and we scoured the property as soon as we had good light. When we found nothing I got permission from my neighbor to check the adjoining property and still found nothing. Ironically in talking to my neighbor I got permission to hunt his property though I probably won't be utilizing it anytime soon, I need some reflection first. I'm upset with myself and I need to regroup and learn from my mistake
I'm with ya man. It is tough to lose one and it takes some time to get back on the horse. You'll be fine. Best of luck getting back out there! It happens to all of us sooner or later!!!
