Maybe I should state the obvious as well. The more this "needs another year" line is used, it has been taken out of context. Some of the time when I say it, it simply means I wouldn't shoot him this year but I am hoping he makes the jump next year. Iowabuckeye is in a unique position. I have had a deer here or there I have been able to capture on trail camera for multiple years. It really hasn't happened too often though. With small wood lots in NW Ohio along with crop rotations, I don't often get bucks that hang out on the same small patch year after year after year. Maybe if I had access to more continuous acres I would. The more I think about this, for me it means "I wouldn't shoot him this year" more than anything else.
