If you are not in a huge hurry, I hope to have my Strothers done and in my hands by mid to late January. I can let you shoot it at that point...

I am a very analytical type of guy tho so I need to give myself a lot of time before I jump the gun! Thatd be great Jesse.
Jesse I don't think you will need a new grip for the Strothers. It is about the best out there IMHO.
I'll wait to shoot it some before making a change. But I have XXL hands and every bow I've ever shot has had big, meaty grips on them. It may be hard for me to get use to something new...

I have shot almost all the Strother bows and own a couple. It depends what you are looking for in a bow. If you are looking for a hunting bow, I would recommend the Wrath or the new Wrath SHO that is coming out soon. They both have amazing specs and I know my Wrath is very fun to shoot. That 8 in. brace height is awesome! The new Wrath SHO is also going to be available in Realtree AP Black. If you have not seen it, it is NASTY!!!
If you are looking for an all purpose bow, the Moxie or Infinity is the answer. Good brace height, plenty fast and a long ATA. The Moxie is similar to an Elite Pure but holds better and has a smoother draw in my opinion.
Speed bow, Id get the SR-71. It is lightening quick with a 6" brace. My buddy had one and loved it. He said it shoots like a 7+ brace height and is wicked fast.
Also..... It is STROTHER ... Not STROTHERS.... Drop the S... LOL!

The cool thing about bows is there are so many great companies that are putting out quality bows right now. I have been shooting Hoyts since Nov on 2009...I really like my Maxxis 31 for hunting. I honestly dont see myself getting rid of it anytime in the near future... For some reason the bow just fits me... One thing to keep in mind is that not every bow is gonig to fit you the same.. Being good friends with a guy who owns a bow shop has been a great attribute to my bow shooting. I have shot almost every bow on the market with exception of a Strother. I am very partial to Hoyts, obviously.. THe carbon bows dont do it for me. I went through the "light" bow phase in the past, and all I ended up doing was piling weight on it so I could hold the damn thing steady...
THe vector series bows have been a great shooting bow, as for the the new spiders with the new cam, I havent shot one enoguh to form an opinion. THey seem to have a great valley and are relatively smooth with little to no hand shock... A lot fo guys blow about how smooth their bow is...I honestly could care less...All I am worried about is the performance once the string is let loose...Everything prior to that is a glitch in my memory...
If I were going to shoot a two cam bow without a doubt my choice would be a Bowtech Insanity...These bows are just flat out performers... Like Beener said, they have a lot of leeway with tuning. Bow tech built a hell of a bad reputation for themselves in the past with shitty limbs and terrible customer service... Although, I have not seen to much go wrong with the Insanities...Well that is until they are dry fired...and man do they implode!! To this day, the insanity is the smoothest drawing two cam bow I have ever shot... But like I said earlier, they really doesnt affect my choice on what bows I shoot. Although, an Insanity isnt a bow I would recomend for someone jsut starting out shooting.
As for grips on bows I have never liked mathews because I hate that huge grip... A large grip creates a lot of surface area. The more surface Area you have the more of your hand is touching the grip..Leaving more room for torque. I remove the handles off all my Hoyts.. It does increase the DL by aobut a 1/4-1/2 inch but the results I get in accuracy and tuning are tremendous. THe only bad thing is in the winter trying to bow hunt your hands freezes when you are holding your bow...
Beener- speaking of handles, do you have yours on or off your Burner?

Some may argue, but I dont think there is any mechanical advantage to owning a carbon bow. The new Element g-3 has the same cam as last years element. So the only change is the new air shock. THe question with choosing a bow is what size bow do you want...That will eliminate a lot of options. Do you want a short or a long ATA?

Not much PSE love on here. Omen can be harsh if not tuned right. Tuned right and its more than manageable. Sometimes there is give and take at 366fps. The vendetta dc is just simply an awesome shooting bow and smooth as heck. best advice go shoot all you can see which fits you best.

The Omen is a definitely a bow that I'd like to shoot one of these days. That kind of speed is more than intriguing. But like Beener said, I think the PSE's are kind of ugly too... The skullworks camo is pretty cool, though.
I shot Scott for years... definitely some top-notch releases. Couple years ago I made the switch to a handle release and I really like it. Thanks to suggestions from Jesse and Greg here, I went with a Stanislawski Shoot-Off and couldn't be happier.

Don't ask me I like old school caliper releases I am still shooting a trufire hurricane buckle. There are just some release styles I wouldn't trust with my equipment so I just stick with what I know works. I also need a long release due to bigger hands and my anchor style.
Greg ordered his and it didn't take me long to get one. I believe 4-5-6 guys here shoot them now. IMO, they are the cats ass. You'll get a chance to shoot mine...

The omen is something you need to shoot more than just a couple times to form an opinion on. Once you become comfortable with the draw cycle it's not as harsh as it seemed at the beginning. I was like you I thought they were ugly at first now they have grown on me. I like unique stuff and they don't look like anything else. There are several bows out there that you take the badges off and it would be hard to tell em apart. That's why they make all kinds though everyone likes something different.
Pulled the 180 and use a SHREWD because of getting the right DL. Have it wrong and the Alpha makes you pay. lol. It will tend to tug if TOO long.
Not sure I know what a SHREWD is?
But I know what ur talking about when u say it wants to tug....i shot a alphaburner at 30 and it is a jumpy mofo if ur not laying on the wall. Do u have ur rubber pin out of ur string stop on the top? I take all mine out, it seems to make the wall firmer.
