New Close Range Varmint Killing Machine

I get a lot of calls about varmints in or around buildings, so I need something accurate, quiet and easy to handle. This M&P Sport fits the bill. :sneaky: At this point, I think I'm going to put a HoloSun red dot on it. Nearly all of my shots are going to be inside 30 yards and quite a few less than 15 feet. (y) I fired 3 shots of subsonic CCI ammo out of it and the action noise is louder than the rifle.

I got some blood on the M&P Sport, today. Shot my first groundhog at 30 yards, in the noggin. I was using some Remington sub-sonic 40 gr. HP ammo and it did the trick. ☠️:sneaky:

It sure is weird shooting something this quiet and it kills the varmints too. All I can hear is the action running and not the rifle.

I had to switch out the HoloSun red dot, for my Sig Sauer Whiskey 3 4-12x50 scope, for more precise shots. (Purchased the high/tall scope rings to accommodate the 50mm objective lens.) The red dot was good, but it didn't give me a reference point of where to aim for the close up shots. I have missed 5 or 6 groundhogs that were inside 15 feet, because the bullet was hitting as much as 2" low. Now, I can use the heavy duplex portion of the crosshairs for a close shot reference. Plus, I installed a stage-1, flat face, CMC Trigger, which has made a huge difference in getting better shots. It also has a very short reset, so follow-up shots are very quick. :sneaky:
