New deer sound ....

The wife has been out back pulling up weeds & laying new mulch. I was just out helping with the raking. Lately, back in the thicket behind the house, the deer have been thick. Even now there's one still bedded. Anyway, I heard this farting & I started laughing at my wife. She was bent over, so I naturally assumed it was her. This sound continued & then it started to sound like someone had a rake up in the woods swooshing away. I walked over to the edge & there was a doe bedded about 15 yards in, making that sound. It now sounds like there's one walking around in there , but she's still bedded. Last evening when I had the fire going, they were coming thru & a fawn was there too. I'm wondering that maybe a fawn or two are up in there now & the mom is somehow keeping tabs by making that sound. I've never heard that before & the wife was trying to tell me it was the neighbor up in there.... until I saw that doe.

Well as soon as i sent that, that deer just ran by down the lane. No fawns, so I dunno. She just laid there & kept making that sound while I stood there for whatever reason .

Yeah it was all fun & games until I accused her. But seriously, there's lawn mowers going on nearby, dogs are nearby , & then she ran off later, so I dunno.

I have to doubt the fawn possibility . Other than the original flubberish sound which was kinda loud, the other sounds were loud as well. At first I thought someone was in there beating a brush pile with a stick or something. Then as I walked over , I thought some kind of animal was defending it's territory since I've never heard this before & didn't know what to think. Then I saw the doe & just watched her a bit making all that noise. I see deer bedded there all the time. I went back & started posting this while sitting in the screen porch. The radio was blaring, lawnmowers in the distance & then it sounded like a big buck walking all over the place for a spell, which obviously didn't make sense & i didnt see any movement until the doe came trotting out.

I believe you think it was a deer because that’s what you saw. But whatever it was, also spooked the deer. It wasn’t the deer. Probry some crackhead or neighborhood kids messing with you . Or a frog or something.

I knew u'd be piping in before too long.... lo. Well I know it was a deer because I was 20 yards away watching it. I know the whole thing sounds odd , because it was.
