I like that idea and it'll work. Just walk over every night and gently train 'em up. Mum like an old lady. 2 years ago, we grew a pumpkin up the side of the greenhouse, across a horizontal, and down the other side.

Looks good bud. I don't see any reason why it won't work. My grandad used to train his to grow up and over a rose trellis so that ought a work.

I hope its big enough( heard that before ) iys 4 x 8 and i may have to add a little more. Need to get my irrigation finished up so its easier to care for. Spend way too much time watering the un irrigated plants.

Looks good! I like everything about the idea besides trying to cut the grass under it! My OCD would be killing me. May steal this idea for the new 6x12 area I put in this year. Maybe next year if it goes well for you.

It works great been doing this with my cucs for a few years and I also straw just about all of my vining veggies it keeps them from rotting on the ground and helps hold moisture in the dog days of July and August.

How important is spacing on pepper plants? Kinda stepped on my dick this weekend and bought a whole flat of pepper plants thinking I would have room for them. They suggest 18" spacing, which seems like a lot to me. I bought jalapenos, hungarian waxes, cayennes, habaneros, and some tabasco peppers. Now I need to find a way to plant them all...

I have mine at 12 jesse but it will depend on your soil. If they are too close they will compete with eat other for nutrients and spread disease easier. Keep away from maters'

Good idea Milo! Should work great I'd think.

Don't forget to sprinkle some Epsom salt in your pepper plant hole before planting them. I also heard that Dissolving 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt in 4 cups of warm water and then spraying your peppers and tomato plants is very beneficial TOO!
