That statement brings back memories. I was visiting relatives in Biloxi a year after Camille hit. It was a mess,but not everywhere....
Camille was the big one everyone measured by, until Katrina. Similar to how Ohio has the blizzard of 72 or the xenia tornado.

"Before the blizzard of 72 there were rabbits and presents everywhere"

"Before Katrina and the BP oil spill the oyster beds were everywhere".
