This hen's coloring is odd. She was the only one that had this coloration in the flock of 30 birds. All the domestic-wild hybrids I've see have been a ghost white coloration.
This is the biggest turkey I have killed, and he had the same orange rusty coloration. Not the best picture of the wings, but his wings had was where most of it was at, along with his fan. Turkeys are not unlike other animals in the way how there is always odd or unusual colored birds. I have yet to kill another one like this, but I bet in some areas they are more common than others. The only turkey that I have killed in eastern Ohio was very dark, compared to the lighter colored western Ohio birds.
