Painkiller on Netflix

I just want products that work. And when I need them, I want to be able to get them. I absolutely despise nanny laws like seat belts and helmet laws.

I know I'm in the minority, but I've never been addicted to anything in my life. I've smoked cigs, drank booze, and caffeine. I've taken oxy, hydrocodone, and other painkillers. Never once did I consider sticking a needle in my arm after stopping taking them.

I wish there were some designation I could get on my medical chart that says "does not have addiction problems" so maybe I wouldn't have to screw around for a month with non narcotic cough suppressants that don't fuckin work when a single prescription of tussionex would fix my cough within 5 days. But no....

I don't think you fully understand addiction. If you look forward to a whiskey, beer or coffee, you are an addict. Some people are just better about understanding that want. But you can be an all out addict and only use once a year. Some people take it to another level of extreme and that is what these things are about.

The issue with OxyContin happens when you take it for more than a week. I have taken it several times, but only for 3-4 days at the most. The issue with Purdue is they lied to everyone, the FDA, the doctors, the patients, the press, etc. They didn't give a damn about the destruction they were causing, it was all about the money.

There’s a lot of blame in that game. Dr’s who were wined and dined (literally) to push that poison….. Vacations, sports/concert tickets. All given by the drug reps…. Used by their expense accounts provided by big pharma….

I took percs almost daily for over two years. I very rarely ever allowed myself to take more than one a day. They are fantastic! I knew going in they were very addictive. Knowing that, I kept it to one pill a day. Haven’t had one for more than a year. I was never addicted. The work wonderfully if a person has sense enough to avoid the dangers.

I guess we have different definitions of addiction. To me, something isn't an addiction unless it interferes with my ability to keep a job, provide for my family, or execute basic day to day tasks. It's cool, we can agree to disagree.

I also understand that the drug reps and their marketing folks were unconcerned about the damage the drugs would do. This led to over prescription and dependence.

What pisses me off is that I can't get effective meds, OTC or otherwise, because someone else abused them.

I've been in some rooms with professionals and addicts. I was giving the meaning of addiction that is taught inside those rooms.

Unconcerned with the damage is putting it very mildly. They focused on profits above humanity and we will continue to deal with the fallout for at least another generation or more.

Most of our laws, societal norms, and mores are all based upon the lowest common denominator. When you are dealing with addiction that denominator isn't very high. Think of all the gun laws, hunting laws, why is it that driving is at 16 yo, drinking laws, etc? All based upon previous experiences with fucktards.

Congratulations, you’re not genetically predisposed do addiction. That being said, take 60 mg of Oxy for 14 days or so and see how you feel when you stop and can’t get your scrip refilled. I’ll keep a lookout for you on Sullivant Ave trying to find a replacement. No one is above addiction and it doesn’t make you a bad person. It’s chemistry. Do you think the lab mice are born addicts or are they made? There’s a reason they’re controlled substances.
