Looks great Jamie!

I have the cheaper Traeger without the WiFi and it has been giving us all sorts of fits. Either throws the HEr / LEr code at some point into a cook causing restarts and inconsistent cook times.

I have been cleaning out the ash after every attempt but it still doesn’t seem to help. Anyone else having these issues?
I had that problem but vacuuming pot before every use is a MUST! Screening out the dust within the bag of pellets is also a MUST. Making sure at no point during ANY smoke the auger sleeve/canal runs out of pellets is even a BIGGER MUST. If I do these three things my 8 to 10 year old Trag will perform correctly or adequately.
Also, I removed that stupit grating at the top of the hopper so I can easily reach down it hopper and work the pellets. That grating was the dumbest idea even if it was for safety. Auger isn’t running like the PTO on a tractor for cripe sakes! Lmao

I took that stupid safety grate out of mine, too.

I also rendered nearly 4 cups of tallow from the trimmings on this brisket. Never did it before, but it was pretty easy. Trimmed the meat off of the trimmings for the dogs. Zero waste this time.

Nice smoke ring! How’d you like the final product?
Very pleased with the results of this cook, which was a total 17 1/2 hours plus a 3 hour rest in the cooler. I was kind of surprised how little pellets it used, though. Smoker ran like a champ. Bark perfect, texture perfect, smoke perfect, very moist, slightly over-seasoned, but that's on me. I'm officially on the pellet grill bandwagon. (y)

It lasted longer than any grill I've ever owned. She no smoke no mo. I might dig into it unless I find a sale. Wife has been wanting a new one anyways. Be nice if I could limp this on till Christmas. "Bitches love smokers" 😂😂😂

Edit: I guess it doesn't give the date April 3, 2020 was purchase date.
I would do an extremely thorough cleaning before jumping into a new one. Might just be the heating element needs replaced. As long as the auger is pushing pellets, the only other issue would be the element, that i can imagine.

I recently bought a middle of the line “Pit Boss” grill/smoker.

Gotta say my meats been
Smoken ever since. (But I love the grill aspect too.)

With the amount of mouths we feed and the amount of meat I eat now, we had kinda outgrown the old one anyways. It would only smoke on smoke setting and I'm sure a good cleaning would've fixed it. But she wanted a bigger one and we found one today that was all scratched up and a floor model. So it came home with us. 1600 class

Buddy of mine lost this exact model in hurricane Milton but absolutely loved his! Did everything from smoked fish dips to tomohawk steaks and seafood! Hope it does well for you!
