I grew up with the Crossman 760 and the 1400 in .22 cal pellet. The 1400 had a shuttle instead of a bolt. We killed a lot of small game with that 1400.
They were very clear in the instructions not to exceed 10 pumps. As far as I remember we stuck to that…..
I started off with the 760. Shot lots of birds and lizards with it, and maybe a transformer or two...a couple insulators, and a street light.

After I wore that gun out, I got a crosman 2100. Did all the same shit with that one. Including killing an escaped parrot. It was two yards over and up on the top power line behind the house. I intended to only make it fly. BB hit it in the neck. It didn't even flop. Just fell straight down behind the neighbors shed.

For what it's worth, I really like my Gamo .22 Swarm Maxxim. This whistle pig, who just invaded my yard, does not. I'm hoping the neighbor's Brittany's find it ....
