This was a special DIY project using the tail from a North Dakota pheasant I was able to take with a 100 year old side by side. The 16ga Ithaca was my great grandpa’s, then my uncle’s, and now it’s home with me.
After drying the tail I mounted it to a piece of an old fence post, using an end piece I cut off to cover up the base of the fan, along with the shell that brought the bird down. The two pictures are me and Blitz with our bird after that morning’s walk and Blitz retrieving a second bird that the Ithaca knocked down on the trip.
Those are gonna be tough highlights to beat, but I’m sure looking forward to trying!
