Just looked at the weather forecast. It's going to be 0 to 13 on Monday and Tuesday. In the 30's on Saturday and Sunday.
Damn that's too cold. That's going to make a lot of hunters stay home or hunt only couple really cold hours and quit. IMHO

Now I ask you what self respecting deer hunter would rather stay home and watch a football game? OH the shame of it.

I was looking at the temps and snow forecast earlier and was like a kid at Christmas. Saturday I'm taking Jessica to the baited blind. The rest of muzz Im gonna bundle up and sit my millennium stand over some corn. Travis will be in the baited blind with his bow. I asked if he wanted me to get a muzzy from his grandpa for him. "No. I really want one with my bow." I'm gonna turn that boy into a bow hunter yet!

If you can stand it I'd be out both days as most guys will be up and moving when they get cold which should get em moving....

I'll be out with a shot to the corn pile. If it gets too bad I'll move the blind, spray snow it, and fire up the buddy heater.

I'm pumped to be honest! This forecast is going to work out real nice! I'll be out all four evenings. My blind is situated 75 yards from an area about 40' x 60' that has corn spread out over it. I can cover 2 of the 3 main avenues to reach this area and it is right in the heart of Captain Jack's territory. My wife will be in the blind with me Saturday in hopes of keeping her streak alive. I can't imagine starting 2014 with her killing Jack!

Good luck guys. I want go out but no one to go with. Crazy?
Maybe I can talk one of the grandson's into going. But they both carry 4.5 grade averages out of a possible 4.0. They might be smarter than that though.

Between fhe weather, tbe lack of deer all season, and this flu bug going around, I'm thinking there won't be much participation. My guess is right in the neighborhood of 13000

I think we will be lower than my initial guess. The extreme cold temps are going to keep many home.

Maybe a dozen shots so far all day in Athens. I saw 4 does and two small bucks this morning around 9am. A coyote at 10 am.

Did you know you have to have a 209 primer to make these damn guns go boom?:)
