I gave all of mine away after Newtown...so sad. Just couldn't stomach it.

I wouldn't be registering my sling shot either, that thing is wanted in a different state

Guns ya say? Haven't seen mine since I sold them. Other then that just seen parts of guns waved around in DC on the TV.

If ya break into my house and you hear a CLICK, Don't worry. My rubber band gun is only a six shooter and the range sucks so you might be safe. Just be warned that if at the right range it leaves one hell of a welt. Just sayin.

Same here Huck... just couldn't stand having them around anymore.

Only thing I kept is my bow. I'm done with all the nonsense.

No. You records are kept at the dealer for a set time. I gaaauurrannnnffuuucckkeeennnteee the FBI has the records. Serial is called in along with Social/name when doing background. FTF transactions are not though ;)

The serial is on the papers. But I've never had them relay the serial over the phone to the feds

The fear of my guns unlocking the safe, loading themselves, and marching upstairs to dispatch me in a violent fashion was simply TOO much. Look at the bottom of the Ohio somewhere around the bend in Belpre and you'll find them...

No.
If there is ever a day that they come to my door demanding or even politely suggesting that I register my firearms or they will confiscate them, i will bring all of my loaded firearms to the door and politely ask them which of them they would like TOO be escorted off my property with.
What I don't understand is the argument that this is for our kids safety. I want my kid safe. I trust a teacher with a gun more than I trust a no gun zone. I will volunteer 1 day a week to be security detail at a local school to help save money, like I'm sure multiple like minded people would.

Call me weird but I think the rapid availability of information and the instant gratification this generation has and the past generations are becoming accustomed TOO are creating a problem that we will never be able to figure out. On the same front I think it is a great advancement for our society.

Sadly, today probably yes, I would most likely register my firearms if legislation passed that required such.

I have trouble with picking a choosing which laws we should or should not obey. We don't expect others to get to choose.

I doubt we will see such legislation anytime soon and probably not during my lifetime, but also have little doubt that at some point in our (your) future such legislation will become the law of the land.

I did qualify my statement by saying if it happened to day I would comply. The political environment is not good today but for a country wide registration law to be passed would require passage by a republican house. It would require agreement from both parties. If such a law came to be from a single party dominated 3 branch government I would need to at a minimum reassess my decision at that time. It would also be largely determined by the laws intent, wording, and penalties.

You younger guys will in fact most likely get to act out your responses here in real life at some point in your future. It is good you are practicing your responses now. I would be very interested to see how your actual responses vary from these hypothetical responses when actually faced with the decision.
