Prayers for a 6wk old please

I don't do much praying, but will certainly be thinking about the family. Having a child of my own sure changes how you view and feel about these situations. It is gut/heart wrenching. Hoping for the best here in my neck of the woods.

You guys (and gals) are the best! Erin is on her way home. Nothing new as of her departure. Results of biopsies to determine type of cancer, or treatment plan are not definitive yet. I guess they did start a pick line. Erin (she is a nurse, but not in oncology and definitely not in pediatric oncology) said a pick line is probably an indication they treat with chemo. With the cancer in multiple locations, she said radiation would probably not be their treatment. I don't know squat, but that made sense to me. I am sure her sister or niece will confirm this later. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

I haven't spoken with her niece, but I cannot imagine the fear this young mother is dealing with right now. Poor Jackson has no clue what is happening as young as he is. I know the family will appreciate your kindness.

It's tough when you have a loved one go through this but too have a loved one at this age, just starting off makes it even worse.... Phil thoughts and prayers go out too your family.....

Neuro blastona. This is a cancer which starts in the nerve endings. He has it on his liver and on the adrenal glands. Adrenal glands sit on top of the kidneys. The good news? It is not in the lungs. I have not heard what stage it is. Basic cancer knowledge says at least Stage 2 because it is in multiple locations. Erin says most likely stage 3 because it has metasticized and moved from original location. I really don't know. It has not been officially determined. Tomorrow they do a bone marrow biopsy to see if it is in his bone marrow. Treatment plan isn't real clear. With the pick line, Erin says it will likely be infusions (chemo).

Erin and her youngest sister are heading back down in the morning. Grandma and Great Grandma had to leave today. Her niece and Jackson's dad are down there now with him. Erin has not spoken with a doctor there. She has done a lot of reading in the last two days and also made a call to her friend in oncology. Her friend spoke with one of our local cancer doctors. Because he is so young and it was caught early, the chances of cure and treatment increase tremendously. We have not yet heard what Jackson's doctor is saying. Just a generalization with this type of cancer which Erin was able to find out locally. Your continued prayers are appreciated. This little guy and his mom could use them. Thank you all again.

Here is a picture of Jackson. I read Erin your comments. She teared up a bit and said "that's awesome.". I said "Yeah. Pretty darn good group of big hearted people at TOO. Then comes deer season and they all turn into stone cold killers." Lol. At least it got a smile out of her.

wow Phil, my heart is breaking for this family.

when I was young my cousin was diagnosed with leukemia I was about 13, and made many trips to the hospital to sit with her, watch her go through the treatment, etc. Not to sugar coat it....its sucks! My cousin survived it, and she is now in high school. I will sincerely pray for your family, that is one beautiful baby who doesn't deserve to have to go through this...Hang tough bud!

Oh, he's adorable and I wish you had not posted his picture. Just makes it even more heartbreaking to me.

I've added him to a couple of other prayer chains.
