Prime Impact...

I was able to shoot this thing a good bit this afternoon since my sight came in...AWESOME! May order a new rest sooner than later as the thunk my LD Pro (not Pro V) makes is giving me a bit of OCD.

Joe if you would like me to make this an actual "review" for the section I can do that easily enough.

Went and took some more time with the new bow. First time shooting it indoors and without high winds. I think this is going to be a great bow. Review by pics.

Initial set up:

This bow has marks on the grip to align the center shot. With the string covering the grip marks (pic to follow) and running down the middle of your arrow you should be real close to being good as mine was.

Shooting:

Since the tuning went so well I decided to forgo doing more of the same BH/Bareshafts as time was short and I like the results I had. I threw a 5 spot target up and shot a round. This bow holds REALLY well!

Dang, some great information you threw in here!! Not just a 'here's my new bow' but a here's how she performs and a few different ways!! Great job! I am in the market for a new bow this year and may have to give this one a try!!

Both are great sights. Both loaded out cost about the same with the BG being a bit more with all the add-ons. The BG Ascent has the "wheel of death" (lol) that allows you to use it as an adjustable sight also. For a truer comparison to the Armortech Pro I would like at the BG Vengeance on a 6" dovetail like this one...

Thanks the BG website is confusing. I think ill get the black gold vengance on the 6 inch dovetail. Ill be happy to be shooting with black gold. Many years ago I had a BG grand slam on a dove tail. My sword 3rd plane let me down today and it will no longer be on any of my bows.

Hey Beener... I know you've seen/shot some of the Spot Hogg sights... How does the BG sight compare to the Spot Hoggs? I shoot an Armortech HD right now, and have considered switching to a Spot Hogg, but I'm curious about these BG sights...

I really think it is a personal preference/features thing with...

Spot Hogg
Black Gold
CBE
Axcel

Here is how I came to the conclusion of buying the Black Gold. I wanted an adjustable sight as I like to shoot long range (100 yards or more) for fun. You can use these style sights at that range without having to use hold over. For the price that left it to the CBE TEK Pro and Black Gold Ascent. The Hogg Father with a multi pin head is almost $400 and Axcel doesn't make one with a dial unless it is a true target sight.

Between the Black Gold and CBE I choose the BG because of:

- Pins are brighter
- Head is standard round where the TEK is a little different shape.
- Plus the Metro in me couldn't stand the red anodizing everywhere on the TEK

For anything other than an adjustable sight it would have been a hard choice between Axcel, Spot and BG. I would say Spot and Axcel have a slight edge in overall toughness from others reviews (not much at all I imagine as the BG is well built). I feel the pins and pin system (Photochromatic) on the BG are better. I could not see ever needing a sight light with the BG's.

Good deal, Charles. I forgot about the adjustability of the BG. That would definitely make those "fun" shots a lot easier. Thanks for the input.
