I have some groundhogs to trap my question is can they be eaten any time of the year or like other animals (squirrel and rabbits) should you wait till after a frost due to warbles.

Ok i just knew it did matter with other animals in the same family. I have ate many groundhogs but only in the late fall/winterSkin them out and eat them. I don't think it matters when. Tastes like
Only at game feeds have I seen things like this. I did not realize it was a normal meal for some, my apologies and enjoy!
I’ve had it, wasn’t bad. But I’d not go out of my way too cook it up, unless that’s all there was left too eat. Then it’d go on the smoker for a long…. Slow…. Cook….
Slow cooker is the way to go. The younger ones are better. If it's an old old one your going to need to tenderize it or toss it in the weeds.
Warbles don’t matter. You kill it it crawls out. Game is not ruined by it. Only thing a warble does it make it look bad.

your thinikng of opossum.Never had ground hog. I would imagine it tastes like Amish.

They are better young (so I’ve heard) but even if their old could put em in a croc pot , google recipes , you’ll find quite a few
Forgot about that one. Yeah that was better then the first one I had. Lot more tender.
My grandparents use to pressure cook them. That pressure cooker would be popping along all day. Us grandkids never knew what was in it. Could be one of many chickens from the barnyard, groundhog, or maybe a snapping turtle. We were just told it was chicken but many many years later I found out otherwise
