I just found 4 big balls of that stuff in my hunting woods. What exactly is it?

Puffballs.

Used to kick them when we was kids.

If soft and white clear through

Good eating also

Best ones for eating are soft ball size

But the basket ball sized one I took home last fall was OK

Made a big batch of soup
