Ill be out tonight, light rain and an East wind. I almost want to pull a Babe Ruth and call my shot. Good chances of flinging an arrow tonight. Two Fridays ago we had similar conditions and all 3 shooters I have on cam came to the scrape and worked it, 2 of them during shooting light. 5 Does were in the clover this morning and I watched them enter the nearby bedding area. I have a feeling someone will arrow one tonight.

The E wind screws me more than the rain. I was planning to hunt and would have hunted the rain if I could be in one of my blinds, but the E wind rules out all those options. I'll be waiting until Sunday morning when the wind shifts to from the W. That enables me to hunt most of my good stands and with the rain passing, I may play the "scrape game". I have a spot on a ridge adjacent to cut corn, oaks and a community scrape. I'll probably get in there early and sit that stand in the AM.

I’m just now finishing with packing my gear...will be headed out to Ohio at 4:00am Saturday morning. Should get to camp early afternoon, then unload gear, get food for the camp, get our hunting licenses etc. Sunday we plan on baiting, swap sd cards in trail cams, put out mineral blocks, placing a couple cellular trail cams and putting up a new blind. Monday the hunt begins. I have off until after thanksgiving so I should have enough time to get a good one.

So here’s what I’m contemplating...the forecast is for light drizzle/rain off and on tomorrow AM. Wind will be light (>5mph) out of the E and switching to ENE to N to NW by 10:00. I’m thinking about doing a ground sit first thing where a big draw comes up the west side of a ridge and creates a natural funnel near the top. Once the wind switches to WNW I’m gonna go to the other side of the ridge and few hundred yards away where I have a stand set just above a bench that wraps around the ridge

I did hunt tonight. Little rain nothing to bad. Saw does and fawns eating acorns but no bucks. Will try tomorrow and Sunday morning.

I'll probably hunt both evenings . I'm not thrilled about how the wind is gonna go from E tomorrow am , to NNE by evening , to west by Sunday morning , to SW by evening .
I also hate having to dry camo between morning and evening hunts .

Still drizzling here in Crawford county. Radar is showing another band from columbus to marysville gaining strength as it heads northeast. I expect that to be here around sunrise.
I dont consider myself a pussy, but I sat in this shit last night, think I'll get my camo dry and resmoked and hope for better conditions this afternoon.

I'm happy I elected to stay in this morning. raining pretty hard here now. looks like a short break in the rain between 10 and 12, so I think I'll go hang another stand in a sweet spot that finally revealed itself as a huntable pattern. perfect for west or southwest wind and for some rattling. I like hanging stands with rain coming...
