Twister siren screaming, family down in basement. I don't ever recall thunder like this.
It's been 4hrs straight of severe storms, wife and boys have spent the night in the basement while I keep one eye and ears open upstairs. The power just went down after a stupid close strike, I can hear Myles crying in the basement. Sump is running every 65secs

It's finally quieting down. Schools are dealyed/canceled due to power outages and flooding. Hope everyone else is OK around the state, looks like we get to do it again this evening.
Just took care of the 4H chickens in a sideways rain. It's not been too bad down here and I'm thankful for it since my plots needed it. We were originally looking at 14+ days of no rain at a critical point in their growth, so I'll take the sever humidity that's about to follow this!
Glad to get some rain but forecasters didn’t have any of this predicted earlier in the week.

Yeah they missed the 10day forecast by a mile. I expect the rain gage to be overflowing, 6-7" is what they're reporting so far.

The comments are spot on. I can't explain it, it was just a different "tone" of thunder that I've never heard, and the duration of storms coming off the lake is the longest I can recall.

Everyone's good, and to school. All other local schools are closed, we kept the 2hr delay. I'm surprised all our buildings have power.
Looks like we were in between.....3" up along lake, 7"+ to the SE of us.
Got 2 rivers that run thru it, the driveway moat is back, and the garden is in standing water. If it does it again tonight, the watermelons and pumpkins will be rottin.
