Thunderstorms went through yesterday afternoon, downed some trees in town and we lost power around 4:30. We were prepping dinner when it went out. When we lose power the only thing we can do at the house is call out and text. No apps work where we’re at on cell coverage.
Talked to @giles and he looked at the area and he found the issue and the estimated time for power to be restored. The original time was 7:30. So I fired up the generator and made all the adjustments to the circuit breaker panel. Once I did that put the power to the house and got too making dinner.
They had approximately 3k homes without power. Luckily the temps cooled off before and after the storms so air conditioning wasn’t really needed. Ceiling fans did their job. Was able to watch the race and keep up with the goings on with the family.
Power did come back on just before 10:00 and all was normal.
A little preparation goes a long way…..
