Just got in town. Sign at hotel says be back at 1:30 so I’m sitting in parking lot. Got a speeding ticket on RT 70 in Ohio. I usually use cruise control but had just left cabelas in West Virginia and was fighting a breakfast sandwich trying to get it out of the wrapper and next thing I knew he was right ontop of me. $155 thrown out the window.

Bucks hanging together which is a first. Just about every pic I have of a buck, there was a pic taken minutes before of does on the pile. I guess they are harassing them but they aren’t ready…now I just need them to check during daylight.

Had deer on the pile all night. No deer seen as of yet during daylight. Skirls and doves is all. Almost hit a huge 8 point this morning on rt93 just north of mcarthur…bastard took his time crossing too.

Good luck George. Sounds like you hunt an area I used to race a lot of hare scrambles. . . Until my wife quit her job to go back to college. . . .then I quit racing motor sickles. Lol

Only saw one seer today on an all day sit. A 4 point came in at 5:15pm. Got out at legal quit time (7:00pm) and the big one came into the bait at 7:54pm. Stayed for 20 minutes and left. I just need him to slip up once! Some buddies are over near Marietta hunting some land they got permission for. They got here yesterday evening and put up their stands today. They are hunting out of a rental cabin. Pics looked nice. They said if I shoot the big one, to call them and they are going to drop what they’re doing to come and see it. Should be a great time…now I just need some cooperation from Mr. Big.

Fuck me! I walk into my stand without a light so I don’t scare any deer. Experience has told me that when I use a light, the deer on the side hills can watch me walk the ridge and I won’t see any deer until late afternoon. When I don’t use a light, I’ll see deer early morning. Today I get about 40 yards from my spot and it’s slow going because I have to watch where I put my feet in the dark so I don’t trip. I look ahead and see two white flags bound away. Later I check my camera app…you guessed it…it was my target buck! They didn’t snort and I was very quiet setting up so hopefully I didn’t mess it up too bad.

Dang George that sucks. Probably no big deal to them so don’t think more of it. I believe we give deer too much cognitive thinking and memory than they have. Perhaps you should sleep in the stand, w that kind of caliber buck I would take any advantage. Good luck today.

Agreed. Those deer are obviously used to someone walking in and dumping corn. Maybe they’ll just think it’s the dinner bell and circle back shortly.

George... Don't you have a green headlamp. . I've been up a tree getting settled in and have had deer under me and green light doesn't seem to phase them.....

I think Cabela's in WV has them... So run over there.... Word of caution though.... Watch out for radar traps....

A good piece of pussaaaaay will bring them right back.. I’d look at this way maybe you bumped them and in the morning they come back a little later or maybe they didn’t quite get their fill up and come back for more.
I wouldn’t get discouraged ya seem to do pretty good every year.
