As a holiday gift, share with everyone else just ONE TIP relating to whitetail deer hunting. Something that you've learned or been shown that makes things easier or more successful. Could have to do with wind direction, or dealing with overly long bootlaces. Maybe your prehunt ritual, or a field dressing tip. Try to pick one that's as practical as possible.

ONE TIP ONLY per hunter! And try not to ramble. But be thorough. But be brief. Make up your mind.:smiley_bril:

You get so little shot ops on mature deer during the hunting season. If you are afforded the opportunity at a shooter buck all bets are off and you MUST take advantage of it. This is not to say take risky shots are shots beyond your comfort zone but when it comes down TOO crunch time make the best shot you can at this moment so there is NO long tracking job. It's a great feeling TOO see one pile up! Also make sure your equipment is out of the way if a shooter shows up so you can make that perfect shot! FUGGIN BACKPACK!!! Nuff said!

www.wunderground.com (Weather Underground) is a good website to check forecasted conditions - just go and put in the zip code where you'll be hunting and you can get estimates on wind speed and direction...purty danged handy

This is goin good, keep 'em comin....if it starts petering out we'll give everybody another at-bat so someone could say something like

On Friday nite take a Sharpie and write the sunrise/sunset times for the weekend on the back of your watch hand so you don't have to worry about trying to remember.

Don't play games on your phone/surf the internet when it is wet out or snow is on the ground...you won't hear them and by the time you see them it may be TOO late :tantrum:

Select stand sites more carefully in the winter. Less foliage/previously gun hunted deer equals spooky deer.

Always make yourself pause and take a breath before touching off the release.

We work so hard all year round, taking every little precaution we can to get within bow range of a whitetail. Why go through all that just to screw up when the opportunity presents itself? It doesn't matter how good you are on the range... if you don't take your time, and rush the shot at an animal during that moment of exhilaration, your chances at missing or wounding the animal go up tremendously. Think about what you're doing, take a breath, settle the pin... do this and you'll make a great shot 99% of the time.

Use aerosol antipersperant deoderant on your feet to keep them from sweating and getting cold.
