I went with Mason to check some cams and dump corn today. While sitting in the warm truck I spied this small set about 40 yards away in the field. Used my binoculars to confirm. One of the “good deer” on this farm dropped in the last few days so Mason plans to go for a walk tomorrow.

I think all of it. I'd say all of us in the extreme areas are going to see this. I also believe it will show next year. We won't get that big jump.
I have read a lot of deer shed early due to stress. Not sure how true it is. Yet as far as Extrem drought. We had some of the best bucks show up this year than in the past 9 or 10 years.

Talking
to a local farmer who has probably the biggest corn crop in the county. I said to him y’all must be hurting from this drought pretty bad.

His response blew my mind he said this years corn produced 3-4 more lbs of corn per bushel than the year before.

I really wasn’t expecting that at all . Learn something new everyday. Now remembering it may be different.🤣

Where I’m at they still holding horn.

Been years ago but went and did a drive about 30 minutes from my place. A buddy called said he had a few guys asked if we wanted to come along .

I believe it was second gun season.
Anyhow this fella shoots a dink buck maybe a 6 or 8 (full grown man) I’m still driving and it sounds like there’s a fugging party going on down there.

I finish out drive we get down to where the fellas was he’s a Straight 10 on a buck emotional high. I’m smiling laughing. Just like wow. You would have thought the fella had just won a ticket to Fugg any woman on the planet on a yacht of his choice and furnished with all his likings.

Ya know how it goes it’s time to drag out and get out out. The fella and his buddy grabbed the deer and dragged it by the antlers for maybe 10 yards both antlers came off about the exact same time.

That emotional high went in to a full grown man crying damn near. I just kept walking to truck because I was having a really hard time not laughing. I’m pretty sure the fella wasn’t very appreciative of that but it is what it is.

Anyhows I usually wait till very end of February to even begin to look.

I’ve only found one pair of sheds that were a match . About 600 yards away from each other. For some odd reason I tend to find the right side of rack 3 to 1 vs left side . 🤷‍♂️
