Shroom ID Thread

Okay. Shroom instead of Mushroom in the search bar.

Ran across this flushing set today with my boy along, he has a app that says "Golden Oyster Mushroom" it appears very close to what we've looked up but putting it out there for opinions. Did the rub, nibble spit, and small nibble.... no tingle, still alive.

So I have one to post as well. This was in back yard by a cherry I cut down two years ago . I'm used to finding chicken of the woods but with deeper color. This popped up This week and I'm convinced it's chicken of the woods but it's lighter than I'm used to. But the two pedals I pulled out from under it definitely look like it . What say you guys?

Tried a couple apps but the AI pic ID isn't working at all on either of them.

clearing a N facing hill, came across 2 flushes. There are some very knowledgeable folks on here so my lookup leads me to COTW?

Please help w ID?

IMO, Black staining polypore which I’ve found to grow back on a stump every year about this time behind my shed.

Yes, I'd say Black Staining Polypore, and they are pretty good to eat. Well, I think so, anyway. I sliced them thin across the grain, so to speak and they were not tough or chewy at all. Mild, earthy flavor.
