GW cant make the landowner let you on their property.

If you had good blood and are pretty sure you know where to look Ninja mode would be a reasonable thing to do. But if you dont find it in an hour or so I'd get out before you got spotted.

Sorry to hear that man. Some people are rediculous. If it ever happens again, remember its much easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, but in the same breath, I would of done what you did. Hope it works out for ya and you somehow get him. Good luck!

That is a tough one. It is not uncommon for a buck to throw a loop and come back toward the tree stand though. Maybe there is hope he double backed on you and crossed back onto the property you have permission on. Sorry to hear it man.

But the GW can go onto the property and recover it... you could shadow him too identify the kill.... Just sayin....

Your wasting your time calling the GW... They can't do anything about it. As previously stated, you should of waited till dark and went and looked yourself. Now they probably already went and looked for it...

Ditto on what Greg said. I think they can go and attempt to talk owner into allowing you to recover, but don't think they can just go get it.

well to update everyone I havent heard from the game warden yet, went back down to property around 5 and me and the landowner started walking over everything from the start again, when we got to the field edge you could see my nocturnal nock glowing in some thick crap about 15 yards down the field edge, just acouple of small drops of blood but he didnt go out into the field we dont think! this stuff is nothing but briars and grapevines, some real thick stuff, we looked for quite awhile but no more blood, going back in the morning and start dogging this field edge and hill side

Well no luck this morning, I was there at daylight and walked the hillside looking for any sign, looking in every blowdown and briar patch, I'm covered in scratches and sore, other recovery efforts were tried last night and were unsuccessful also, hate to give up on this deer but I think I have exhausted my efforts to find him, I am taking today off and will probably get back in the stand tommorow, I want to thank everyone for their advice and to let everyone know if this happens to me again ( which I hope it doesn't) things will be done differently.

I feel your pain, lost a nice 8 point a month or so ago, under similar circumstances. Just decided it was the deer hunting gods telling me I need to keep my buck tag for a bigger one.
