Rare straight E wind here tonight and it's raining leaves. Our black cherry and black gums are dumping leaves by the bucket full. White pines have been dumping needles lately too. We still have some miserable hot days left, but there's definitely fall in the air this evening.

Much the same at my place all day today.

NE winds as of right now.

It also appears we're going to get some rain here very shortly.

Leaves have been falling steadly all day.

I just finished up most of my mowing and mulched most of those down leaves towards the wooded edges for now.

Cleared a couple of deer traveling areas as well with the mower since I'll be hanging my new stand tomorrow at some point. That's the route I intend on using when hunting out of it later on.

Suppose to be real cool, rainy with the right kind of wind for me when I go to hang that stand.

Those conditions should keep my human scent down to a bare minimum hopefully while I hang that new stand and clear me some shooting lanes.

Wooded canopy is definitely thinning out some TOO around here.

Oh, I have tons of hulls on the ground with the nuts inside that have been falling for a month or so during strong winds and storms. Seemed the pignuts fell earlier than the shagbark too. I was meaning squirrel cuttings, the first day they start it looks like sawdust around several of our shagbarks.
Just tonight before mowing I had to move a shagbark bough that’d fill a small truck bed that snapped off because it had so many nuts on it. I’ll snap a pic tomorrow of the loaded hulls that fell off on impact.

Forgot to post the pic I guess😎

I've noticed our corn has really turned in the last couple weeks. More than it had been. I'd guess 2/3 to 3/4 up the stalk is yellow in many fields. Haven't noticed a ton of leaves yet.
