Since I ask everything else mines well

So here is my contribution to the thread.

I am currently shooting easton STEPIC, 340 spine. I have been considering switching arrows for a couple years though for these reasons...
1. The epics are discontinued, and all but impossible to find any more.
2. The epics I do have are for the most part, 2 or three years old, and have seen a lot of use. I know that sooner or later, i will end up shooting one that has a crack in it,
3. I switched to the magnus buzzcut broadhead. i am happy with them but think they might perform better with a little more ass behind them.

Been considering picking up a half dozen FMJs. So with a 29 inch draw, 70 lbs, and 100 grain heads, what spine should I be looking for?

I'd sell you a half dozen fmj 340's for cheap but they're probably not the correct spine. I've only shot them 20-30 times.

I would guess you're in the green, like me. You're shooting basically the same thing as me, depending on how much of an overdraw you shoot I guess, and what your arrow length is. Milo told me I was fine though at 68, 29.5, and 27.5 arrow length.

You know, I might be interested in those 340s... I only have 4.... I know they can always be cut since you have that absurd draw length.

You should be fine as far as spine goes. However reason #3 may not necessarily be true. The FMJ's have a higher gpi than the ST Epics, so your FOC will likely decrease when switching to FMJ's. Accuracy and penetration is typically better with a higher FOC. Now, the added weight of the FMJ's may actually give you better penetration than the Epics even with a lower FOC, but the FMJ's may not necessarily fly better than the Epics.

Here's an idea... switch to FMJ's with a .300 spine and shoot a 125 or 150 gr head. Then you'll have the best of both worlds... a heavy ass arrow that'll hit like a ton of bricks AND higher FOC.
