Slow Flushing Pooper

Not trying to threadJack but have a similar issue I can’t seem to solve. My flushing has no pressure/push. Cleaned the tank and bowl w Iron Out- as there was black and rust coloration. Checked the roof vent. It’s a septic that was pumped this summer. Even tried a plastic snake and chem cleaners. Mild temporary improvements at best. Check the d box and it appear water is making it there and the tank has contents. No variation w windy days or the upstairs or down stairs thrones. If you hold the handle it will empty the tank but no greater hydraulic effort is observed. Any guesses for the gurus? The toilets are 30 yrs old- do they go to heck with well water and sediment or ???

thank you
Cast iron drain pipes out to the tank? Ever have them snaked that far?? Have you removed the toilet and replaced the wax ring/inspected the pipe below?

All PVC circa 2000. Nope on the snaked (can I DIY or is this a professional needed- to which I will call).

Two tanks in series… hand a crumbling concrete d box replaced 3-4 years ago.
Thanks for the help

Is there a clean out you can easily access? If so, it is an easier DYI. If not, you are probably pulling a toilet to eel.

So I failed to answer the wax ring question- they’ve never been touched.

as for the clean out- there is one (inside of a basement closet)… should I just YouTube the methodology?

That would certainly help if you’ve never done it before.

I haven't been able to take much action on my issue between work, family life, and hunting, did get some additional troubleshooting in today after clogging the toilet with a massive dookie. At the point, I'm certain there's an issue with the toilet itself, and potentially the discharge down to the first wye. I turned both bath tubs hot water on full blast, then opened the cleanout plug on the last wye before it leaves the house. The main bath was draining/flushing fine, while the master bath line felt hot and full. The tub was draining as fast as it was filling, meaning it was getting past the wye from the toilet and into the main collection line. I'll get the supplies this week, but I suspect when I take it up, the seal/flange/wye will be clogged. I'm going to buy a snake while I'm at it and ream things out. Probably rent one for the main discharge line while I'm at it so I can confirm it's clear and put my mind to rest in that regard. Will report back soon.

Take the toilet off, look inside it, shake it around while looking in the hole in the bottom. One of my idiot kids thought it was a good idea to flush a sea shell down the toilet, it went down but wouldn't go through the bottom hole. It would flush fine after I plunged the paper and fecal awesomeness down. Check the trap in the toilet

I’m not sure what kind of availability you have down in BFE, but up here, having a company come out and jet the main sewer line is easy and relatively cheap… like $200. It would likely be more cost effective and overall more effective to go this route, rather than renting and running a mechanical snake through your line. Typically though, they request that the tank has been pumped first… So if you’re due for a pumping that’s a no brainer.

Do the other fixtures drain properly? Sinks, showers, tubs, other toilets?
Yes. And to date, knock on wood several times, nothing has backed up into the house. However, I have no idea when the tank was last pumped and the main line runs past a giant maple tree and another larger maple. The line would have been buried in 1996.

Had the same issue last year with a toilet... Not enough water going into the bowl to flush... Due to hard water there was a clog where water comes into the bowl due to calcium buildup... Take a metal coat hanger and clean out the openings where water comes out into bowl.... You could have one or several depending on maker of toilet...

Good to hear because we have very hard water and I've assumed that it was a possible variable in all of this.
