My Grandfather lied about his age and joined when he was 16. Our society sure has changed a lot since WWII and none for the better.
My grandfather did the same. Coal jockey with 3rd grade education.
My dad quit his senior year and enlisted. The one thing he drilled in me, get that diploma…. He did well for himself with no diploma.
