Well, it was a pretty good Saturday, Sunday morning didn't see anything. Caught the red eye to Athens, Saturday morning, had my buddy sit in my plot stand thinking he would get a shot on a doe. He text me about 830, that he shot a doe. Had about 6 come in, even being a doe it was nice to see that they came in, hit my watering hole, ate at the stump for a minute then worked their way to the plot. The evening hunt, I was about 2 yards away twice from getting a shot on another doe. The second time they were working right to an opening I had, was getting ready to try and something fell out of the tree by them. They spooked a little and ran back about 10 yards and then never had another chance. It's only seasonal right now, but I'm taking the gamble and got hired in as a UPS driver, hoping to turn it into a full time position at some point after the season. I'll still be out most weekends when I can, just won't be able to take my normal week off in November. Hoping to make it back down in two weeks, If I don't get a shot on a doe then, I might not shoot one the rest of the year. After that in the rut, I'll just be waiting and it's just a personal preference, but I don't like to shoot does after. They could change though.

and yes I have a purple bow lol this is just a little gas line spot, through some rye grass and chicory down a few weeks to see what would happen. It is so dry down there, couldn't work anything. Even though theres not much they still mill around and munch at it

Monster doe buddy congrats

Nothing going on this weekend, took the weekend off to do some fishing and get ready for the new job. Up in the air about going next weekend, might wait until haloween weekend to make it back down and try to hit hard for Nov/Dec

Short hunt yesterday morning! Actually it never got started.

Alarm went off at 4:45, I headed out the door at 6:00, get to my treestand undetected, climbed up and got settled in. Hoisted up my xbow and hung it on the hook, reached in my quiver and pulled out an arrow, checked the tightness of the broadhead and, much to my dismay, discover that all my arrows had fieldpoints on them:tantrum:. Climbed down and went back home.

I'm a moron:smiley_chinrub:

Well after my broadhead blunder yesterday I made it out this morning. Didn't see a thing. On the way out I pulled my camera card and, of course, it had a picture of a big fat doe in front of my stand yesterday. I knew it:smiley_blackeye:

I made it out in the back yard. Boys wanted to put corn out and hunt, so that's what we did!

Very much so! Lol. Back in the saddle this morning though. Time to get shit done. Glad you guys have been getting out even with a fumble here or there.

Crops are coming off, weather is getting cooler, days are getting short, time to kill some ruminants.
