Just patterned the shotgun. Using a new to me one this year. 20 ga 3" Winchester XX 5s shot great from 20 to 40 yards. Pattern is a little thin at 40 but stl 30-40+ pellets in a 10" circle. Using an 870 with a tightwad choke.

Now it means it's not the guns fault if I miss.

Going to get my stuff together and head up to Ashland county early in the AM.

Just made sure my broadheads flew good which they do, pulled the card and 5 toms showed up today, hopefully they will tomorrow too. As for the Tom bombs, yes they need to be about a inch and a half longer to clear your hands. I would just stick with the rage hypos if they shoot good. Good luck to anyone tomorrow shoot straigh and remember ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397250297.839226.jpg

Good hunt this am especially with the wind. Got to work the only bird I heard for 30 min or so but he just wouldn't come close enough. Will probably hit it another time in the am but the wind sucks!

Same thing with me, was working in and can hear gobbling for about 30 min than I saw him at about 70 yards and he just disappeared. Wind does suck though it needs to calm the heck down.

Congrats to your uncle, the wind has been killing it for me as well. I did pick up 2 more primos hen decoys and a funky chicken decoy, my friend has a funky chicken and said the Tom went wild when he saw it and came flying in to bust it up so hopefully it will work for me. Seams like it would but who knows.

Another great morning this am despite rain and hail. I set up on bird from yesterday before daylight only to have 2 lighting it up on the next ridge. Made it over there and started working them around 7 when the sky opened up. Luckily we had a blind about 50 yds away that I made it in. Had to leave by 7:30 for Dr apt and they were still gobbling in that mess... maybe next time..

If you upload to YouTube you can post the link here. Also no luck harvesting one this morning but had 3 hens within arm distance of me and they didn't spook at all which was cool
