Try setting up on that big crp. I wouldn't get close to that turkey nest though, if you spook the hen off she probably won't come back.

Okay, I'll see how the weather looks. I didn't see any nest the egg was just laying by itself in the grass randomly, if I had seen a nest I wouldn't have gone anywhere near it I just almost stepped on the egg before I saw it lol. How much will rain impact turkeys?

Turkeys will flock to open fields during rain. They don't like being in the woods during rain because they can't hear as good, they rely on their eyesight in the fields during rain. I was just at one of my spots about an hour ago, it was raining and I watched 4 turkeys come out into the field.

Awesome, thanks! Is crp better than crop fields? That big crp is has a pretty steep hill side all along the left and north side as the crop field just above it is probably 150 feet higher than it. The crp is low enough that If there wasn't a mound levee along the river that crp would probably flood in some of the bigger river swells.

I actually had one roosting and sounding off every 15 seconds. They never seem to roost on the property. Well I got too close and spooked him. I never heard or saw him again. Oh well...

That sucks. How close were you before he spooked?
