Tell me about Muck Boots

Well boys, after trying a size 14 muckboot in the store that was just a tad too tight, and being unable to find any LAB's to "test drive", I received a pair of Muck Woody Max's in size 15 today.....put them on with a single pair of sox and wow nice and comfy, with room for a second thicker sock. :smiley_clap: :pickle:

I think I'm pretty happy. Thanks for your input guys.

Can't wait to get out in the woods in 'em....i'd really be happy if there was 2-4 inches of snow on the ground come next weekend (ain't happenin' this weekend)

Here ya go Ric - does this look like the tread you had trouble with?

No, your looks much better Dan! I'll take a pic of mine and post them soon. They SUCK! I think they are Muck Rangers.

Thanks for posting the pics Dan!

just picked up a pair of alpha burleys at the rural king in marion. clearance sale $60. tried them on in the store and you are right, need a size bigger than what I normally wear. wore them for a couple hours checking cams and found them to be very comfortable and kept my feet warm and dry.

cant beat the price.

Got the " Well ya should have got you a pair while you was there " line from the wife when I told her this evening. Guess where THIS fella is heading first thing in the morning lmao.

Winner winner, chicken dinner...

With this thread in mind, while I was walking through a Gander under renovation tonight, I saw a pair of Lacrosse AlphaBurly Sports on sale...75%. Originally $150, I paid $37. They are the non-insulated, 3.5mm, but I figure I'll wear them for turkey season. They only had a 13, which is my boot size, but my other rubber boots are 14's. I figured at that price, if I don't like 'em, some TOO brother would surely get the discount passed on to them.

Bought three pairs of Under Armour boot socks on sale for 50% too!

Dang son! Let me know if you don't like them... I'd gladly wear a pair for that price!

I actually ended up with 14's, noticed that after I slid 'em on last night. The ankle is tight, but from this thread it sounds like they stretch out.

The whole store had stuff off, but sadly it had already been picked over.

Yeah. Just walk around in them. They'll break in. You'll appreciate it when your heel doesn't slip or the boot doesn't eat your socks. Lol.

I wore them today and I love 'em for climbing stands.

The only thing I didn't like was that there seems to be very little support in the ankles. I caught myself gently turning my ankle going across clumps of frozen dirt. I feel like this will lead to a good turned ankle someday or blowing out the side of 'em. Other than that, all good. I only had one pair of light socks on though, so another pair to get a good fit into the 14's should make me good.

Honestly I've yet to find a pair of rubber boots that did provide ankle support. I think it's just the nature of the beast. When wearing rubber boots, you just have to be conscious of your walking conditions. Some boots may support the ankle a bit more than others, but I think no matter which brand you're wearing it'll always be a risk.

Sorry to hear you like those boots so much... I would have gladly taken them off your hands. lmao

I started out with the Muck Edgewater and, after sliding into the creek, quickly gifted them to the better half (thank goodness we wear the same size) for working out in the barn. No tread whatsoever on them. Ended up with a pair of Muck Arctic Pro. Love them....my feet never get cold.
