This is the first and only year we don’t have a single nest in any trees around our house. Every year we have at least a dozen or so and my neighbor and I both noticed we haven’t got one between us and that is extremely odd or rare.
Has anyone else noticed this around your homes or farms this year?
I’m not unhappy or complaining cuz I can’t stand them and glad they aren’t around this year.🤗👍🏻
Just wondering if this has happened in other areas and what might be the reason.🤔

You got yourself a “tent worm” cat, didn’t you?😂😂

It has been a "good" year for bugs around here. Hardly any mosquitoes, houseflies, deer flies, horseflies. I have seen a few tent caterpillar nests, but not nearly as many as usual by now. I have only had two ticks on me all year so far. The goddamned Hover flies have been horrendous, though, and they can be very annoying, although perfectly harmless. Not many paper wasps or mud daubers around here, either. Fine by me. All those stinging and biting motherfuckers can stay in hell where they belong.

Couple of weeks early still, isn't it?
Nope

Around our house we have those stupid silky tents all over around the hickory and oak trees all summer. They’d eat up a lot of leaves near or on the limb the nest is on and drop on us, the patio or spa cover through the day depending on how windy it is. I haven’t seen a nest all summer and not any chewed up leaves on the end of limbs on any of our trees which makes me happy.
Spiders and ants are way over the top than an average year. I remove webs nearly everyday and everywhere these days and there’s ant mounds along our driveway and in our landscaping. Tired of spraying Home Defense brand all over the place and still seeing those two types of pests living the dream. Lol Other than spiders, ants, granddaddy long legs and a few yellow jackets we don’t have much to complain about this year.

Gotcha. I just remember them being around for harvest.

Freaking skeeters are hitting different this year. Bite site itches for weeks.

They were horrible here in the spring and again a few weeks back. Most aggressive skeeters in years I’d say. Must be Bill Gates skeeters 🦟
