It’s amazing how concealed they are in relatively light brush! Their big eyes are what makes it even possible for me to see in that photo. Lol
Ellie had this one pinned as soon as we got into the woods. Wasn’t expecting much with how light the cover is in this spot.

I flushed two single birds on same farm but in different blocks of timber today while shed hunting. First one I caught flinching just before flushing and it took off as I was reaching for my phone to take a pic. Woulda been a cool shot at 6 yards. Dang
Got on some quail today with the dogs. Fun times
Welcome to the jungle! Woodcock are back in abundance here in Louisiana. Moved about 20 birds in a 5 acre section, what a hoot! Decided to only shoot pointed woodcock so hopefully the dog’s manners improve when the birds flush so as to not bust other birds nearby.
No videos or action shots today. Left the go pro in the truck on accident. Finally found some great cover and got on the birds.
Hopefully the birds are there tomorrow and we don’t have to go on such a big run.
