Drake, which Grey Wolf model is that? My wife hinted that she wanted to go look at a 26DBH this week...
Looks great Drake!
Dang Woody, hate to hear of the bad luck, but glad that it was nothing worse and no one was hurt! I know it's hard to see right now, but I think you guys were pretty lucky. I'll try to put it into perspective, then you can tell me to go pound salt but hopefully it puts a smile on your face:
- A seized caliper could have sent that rig into a crazy frenzy leading to a crash or off that mountain like you quickly thought of lol!
- The entire engine could have "ran away", burnt down a piston, or seized. At least it can be fixed and you're not putting in a whole new engine or buying a different truck!
- It's a dodge, you could have had the tranny or rear-end grenade - again more expensive, although quicker to fix:smiley_coolpeace:
- A simple tire blowout could have ripped the entire wheel well out in the camper, leaving a much larger hole. It could have damaged a vehicle behind you. Then you would may have been stranded on the side of the road, not been able to camp, and scratching your head on how to fix with a pissed off guy behind you waiting for the LEO's.
- You could have been camping under a tree and had a widow maker create a new vent hole over your bed. Then when you sat up in the dark, poked your eye out.

Now that's what I'm talking about... Any weight on them Ron??? 6lbs?
26dbh is the model we have. No real complaints to speak of so far. We really like the larger bunks in the back. I'm 6-1 250 and can sleep comfortably in the bottom bunk.Drake, which Grey Wolf model is that? My wife hinted that she wanted to go look at a 26DBH this week...
Damn Woody! I thought I was the only one with that kind of luck!
Why is your truck eating head gaskets? A guessing fella would say to back your tunes down a bit.
Lol, gotcha. When I did it the first time I didn't send the head off to get spec'ed I just checked it 6 ways with a flat edge and I didn't see anything. Well I guess I was wrong.. The head is at the machine shop right now getting completely gone through and fingers crossed that it can be machined and I don't have to replace it.. As for the tunes everyone is blown away that a 80HP tune would have anything to do with it since they have dropped 120HP+ tunes into the 6.7 and the only issue was Trans slip and trans blowing up.. never had a HG issue even with all factory HG's and bolts. But stranger things have happened that's why I'm having the shop install ARP 625 head studs.. Proven to hold up to 1000HP. If it happens again it might find itself in the bottom of the river lol
Good times. I will hopefully get my camper back this week. If so, I'll be dragging it north this Friday. Headed to my folks in Elmore and looking for a walk in site up on the lake if possible.
Awesome stuff Drake, that's what it is all about!!
How old are your boys?
Cooper will be 4 on the 25th of this month and Jase will be 2 on the 26th.
