High class trailer trash...I'll post some pics after I get over it. A bit flashy for me, but the deal was right.

What did I get? (Some of you already know, so your guess doesn't count)

Shaping up to be a fun year for us. Paint Creek in April, Leith Run in May, Dillion State Park in June, TOO Shoot in July, camping at my parent's river lot in August, the county fair and Salt Fork in September, Burr Oak and Strouds in October, with some random trips to AEP lands and our farm sprinkled in between. A solid first full year of ownership on the books!

TBD

We're dead in the water for Mingo unless we actually form a legal business entity and buy group liability insurance, which isn't happening this year, if at all. I am making a phone call tomorrow to someone I think can help us and will report back. My insurance guy called me today after several attempts to work something out, but the lack of a business entity to shelter us all is a deal killer.

We are actually thinking about bringing our camper home for a while for some much needed repairs and cleaning. It's been at the farm for probably 8 or 9 years now to only serve as a cabin while down. Probably need to get new tires and a decent inspection of the brakes and all before attempting the haul. Would be nice to actually use it for camping a time or two as well.

After that the initial plan for the farm is to then get an area flattened out and gravel brought in to park it on the S end of the farm but be able to yank it out and go places if we wanted. That or sell it and finally put a cabin over there LOL!

Bearing Buddy thoughts?? Anyone install them on their campers?
Mixed thoughts. 100% on boat trailers. On my campers I like to get hands on with them. Part of the experience for me to do it by hand. Pulling the tires and getting a good look at them all the way around at the same time. Checking brakes and backing plates. I enjoy it I guess is what I'm saying. Not just a pump or two of the grease gun. I like to make a few hours of it on a spring day. Really look the camper over after winter. Which I didn't do this year, lol. But I would imagine I would never do it with a bearing buddy system.

The main purpose of bearing buddies is to pressurize the inside of the hub, thereby preventing water infiltration when submerged repeatedly. They’re great for boat trailers, but really don’t make much sense for campers or dry land trailers. The problem is they give folks a false sense of security. Everyone thinks it’s all good just because they pumped some grease into the bearing buddy. There’s no substitute for regular inspection of your hubs, especially on a camper. If this is already a routine for you the bearing buddies certainly won’t hurt anything... but they’ll be a waste of money IMO.
