Don't know why I never posted this pic, but I took this pic on the way home from our little muzzleloader get together back January.

Steve, I saw a squirrel like that years ago... It was already dead and I pulled on it to see if it would come out??? Pulled the tail right off of it... It wasn't budging lol

She's got a lot to learn.

Eggs the size of large grapes need to be deeper than 1/2".
They probably won't last the weekend.

This old apple tree is about all that's left of a old homestead property that was on the map in 1870's. Although the tree is not that old, it was in the yard area where the old home was.
It fell over a couple seasons back due to some rotting at the base but is still producing apples for the critters so I leave it be. It was a very large tree.

This same location is where a few years ago I discovered a cement pad 2 x 3 ft est. in size heaved up one spring in a spot I had mowed over most of my life. The pad had two; semi half moons of steal bolted to it. In time, it was concluded that this was where a barn once stood. Their purpose was to keep the big doors that slide in place when closed.

I'm sure only a couple of you would have known right off what it was.

I have known this one patch of woods all my life. Since we were old enough to leave the yard, there has been a old piece of metal sitting in the woods. Over the years I have sometimes paused as I still hunted past the object but never giving much more than a passing thought as to what it my have been for at one time or why someone would have dragged it out into the woods. I never noticed any writing on it to catch my interest so it stayed undisturbed.

Well a couple of years back while hunting past the object I paused as I have countless times but this time I nudged it with my foot, kinda flipping it over to the other side.

The writing said "Weaver Auto Ambulance"

With that I discovered what it was-

And how it was used.

Now knowing what it is , it seems a shame to let it rot away. I would be glad to sell it to a collector who is into these cars. Its missing the long pole tong and is made of cast iron so it dosent seem cost effective to ship. I have no idea if it has any value other than scrap but some how that doesn't seem right.

Pretty cool stuff Jim. I like the part where it says "one man can easily throw it in your service car" made me laugh. Sucker looks to be about 200 pounds of iron. Lol.

Hey Bro ( CJD ) you still have the photos of those logs sticking out of the embankment by the river that looks like a old fort?
