Working 12 hour night shifts running the dryer. It was acting up last harvest and despite my constant bitching about it, they didn't do shit until the Drive went completely out in it Friday. So we filled up with wet beans and put a shit ton in a dry bin. So now Im stuck at nights for a week doing beans, then back to days for a couple weeks, then back on nights for a couple with wet corn. 7 p.m. to 7a.m. Not conducive to hunting

Well my dad that hunts the same property as me shot a big frame 6pt last night. He is new to hunting and I have been teaching/guiding him on a lot of things. This would be his first buck. I believe he got buck fever and he made a bad shot. I was not there. He can't find any blood or the arrow. He struggles to recall everything about the shot. He searched for the buck for 45min and then threw in the towel on the search. I'm a little frustrated with the lack of effort for recovery. The way my schedule was, I was not able to help. I feel bad about that also. If it was me I'd be out there searching a lot longer going through every possible place the buck could be. Sorry to rant, it just sucks to loose a buck and then to see my dad doesn't care very much if it is lost.

Funny you say that. While I was home sleeping today, they replaced the shaft on our smaller dryer at our Old Dump Pit. So at least I got out of that.

That is an old picture but I was in that old dryer for at least 3 hours trying to change the flights and pins...sucked ass!
Try geese lol.... 6 of them too be exact and they all made it thru the leading edges on both sides.....

Now I'm going to whine. I've got an employee that is MIA, so no hunting for us tonight. On the bright side, my beagle was running a rabbit all afternoon. I love to listen to her run! Anyway, KR just sent me a text that apparently the beagle finally caught and killed the rabbit. Mason felt the need to dress the dead beast, and is currently out by the barn skinning and gagging.
