My younger son got caught up in a game of backyard football so I got to get out on my own finally.
I'm hunting the west stand on a bench above a creek bottom. Wind is swirling... Hope the smoker works tonight.

Here is the view from my setup at Clap. Have only hunted this three times so far. I think I am going to wait and give it try once it is a little closer to rut.
Nice setup. Is that an old elevated blind in that one pic ?
And just for the record....STD and now CLAP might want to get the horse back to the stable and a good dose of penicillin lol.

There is a ravine to the southwest that the deer like to come up, as well as the tractor paths to the south and west. Here's a pic of a good looking young eight followed by Claw coming up the tractor path to the west.

Hoytmania- Beautiful pics! When I was in the area 10days ago the rolling terrain with changing leaves were unbelievable!
The further south east you go the more beautiful it gets. You should make it a point to take the wife and kids down St. Rt. 39 from Mansfield to Berlin some fall. Beautiful can't even explain it.

New set tonight. Got the creek bottom and a shelf to the north; end of the point to the east; the sanctuary to the west, and hippie ridge is running E/W just south of me. What a view!!!

My views this morning. First time I was in this stand this year. It is right up against some real thick young growth and a good bedding area.
