Thousands of Walleye Dead On Erie

Anyone read into this yet? I had a buddy of mine call me yesterday and tell me about it, but hadn't read the articles yet. Looks like this nasty spring has been tough on a lot things!

The spawning-stress theory fits, but who knows... Hopefully it's not a die-off caused by VHS disease. Another theory I heard was that the die-off could be attributed to gill-netters up in Canada... supposedly, the windy/wet spring had kept them from checking the nets as frequently as usual, thus killing more walleye than usual. Hard to say I guess.
