Had a great morning on stand. Saw ten does and three bucks, all but four deer in shooting range. Had a buck chasing a doe, watched a buck make a scrape and a rub. Kate drew on her first deer this morning but she couldn't get it to stop. I will start a thread later for my week of vacation and tell the whole story there for those that are interested.

I drive into work just at daylight every morning. I take the same route in and home everyday. I seen deer EVERYWHERE this morning. In places that I haven't seen a deer at all this year. Things are starting to heat up, at least with movement. Should start getting exciting!

Hunting "Farm East" in about an hour. Haven't hunted here yet. My buddy (that bought it and closed a couple weeks ago) is coming in when he gets off work. This way, worst case scenario he bumps them to me. Best case scenario we each sit on one side of the creek and watch the largest fields north or south of the creek in the middle. Both hunting pretty good observation stands to take notes on movement. My plans are to hang the boy, grab the binoculars and learn today. He has seen one which he thinks is 160class running the area twice now. If I see him, I am putting binos down, and grabbing the bow "as quickly as I slowly can".

Yep, same here. Yesterday and this morning both were good sits for me, even though I only had 1 small buck come by. The does and yearlings have really been on the move in this neck of the woods. The bucks should start any time now, hopefully tonight!

Good news is that I can hunt this weekend pretty hard, things are looking good at home at least for now. Might as well take advantage of the situation.

Good luck this weekend guys.

One buck this evening. Just a little guy I think we are gonna call Cactus Head. He walked right under the stand. I figured Kate would try to shoot him, but I look over, and she's sound asleep.

Deer were moving all day though. Had three does come through at 10:30 when we were getting ready to climb down. Then, at one, I went out to move a stand, and as I was hanging it in a new spot, I had a doe come walking through to within 40y of me. The buck we saw this evening was on his feet and working a field edge at 5:00 this evening. I think, at least in my area, a person could have sat all day today and saw deer on their feet.

I will be leaving in about a hour and a half for my second sit at Jacks farm. This is where Austin got his doe last year. We have only hunted it once this year so far so I thought it should be decent for a hunt.

The wife didn't feel like going as we are having a big shin dig at our house tonight and she didn't want to be tired for that.

Just got settled in. Sure is pretty bright even with the slight overcast sky. Could be a out ten degrees cooler but I am just happy to be in the woods. Got a good feeling about this mornng. Been a few years since I drug a deer out of the woods on this farm and I'm in the killin mood.

One doe in the field already when I was walking back.. that's it for me. Talked to two other buddies, each only seen one doe. I think the bright moon had 'em up on their feet all night!
