This is it.... like 115. delivered.
Just stuck this huge 2’ tall sucker I apparently missed a month or so ago in water yesterday afternoon and just thought I’d post a pic to follow it’s progress the next 2 weeks on here. Where it’s sitting gets mid to late morning sun for 3-4 hours then it’s in shade till next morning
The base of the sucker was clear down near the bottom of the plant about 6” high.
First and last haul of cucumbers for pickles. I've had a rough time with striped cucumber bettles. By the time you know they're there, it's too late and because I've not wanted to apply any pesticides, they've won the war so far. Next year, I'm raising the stakes and chemical warfare will ensue.
Things are unruly, but not unmanageable. I either need another walk behind tiller or a push mower. I've fed the chickens $50 worth of zucchini and squash off $3 worth of plants!

We had one cucumber plant. It produced close to a dozen cucumbers, then it just wilted and died off. It was weird, so we removed it and planted another. We’ll see if it produces.
Zucchini, squash and peppers are going strong. Tomatoes are getting larger but nothing turning reddish…..

That's textbook striped cucumber beetle. They bite the plant and infect it with a bacteria that wilts it and it slowly dies.
This was in a 2 day period, the plant was disconnected from the soil. No evidence it was even in the ground. Really weird.

Harvested some tomatoes today….cut one up for cheeseburgers….very meaty flesh with almost no seeds. They are so good that you could eat one like an apple.

Three plants are looking good. Squirrels hasn’t been messing with it at any.

Todays harvest with many more that’ll be ready by weeks end.
The wife and I aren’t big fans of really hot peppers, the kids are and we grew some Hungarian peppers as well as regular banana peppers. We grew them for the kids, but the wife decided to experiment a little. 2 regular and 1 Hungarian, oil and her concoction of seasoning added.
Man were they good, just the right amount of heat and flavor…..
The last couple rains really helped everything pop. Same as everyone else, staying up on weeds is a bitch. All varieties of maters seem to be doing well, but crabgrass in the 1st year permanent planting rows is winning. I know it will be better each year forward, but it's annoying for the OCD.
Broccoli has rebounded nicely after some decent worm damage, and is about 1wk out on harvest start. 2-3 of the plants look like Swiss Cheese. I spent a morning with long nosed pliers physically removing the caterpillars and then hit everything with a strong dose of neem oil.
Some of the pole beans are a day or so out from first picking. Bush beans and peppers have started to flower.
Watermelons in fenced portion replaced sweet corn this year and so far so good. I'd like to see 6-10 good watermelons and a couple cantaloupe make it from this area.
The outside pumpkin and watermelon patch is looking real nice so far. Goal here is to get enough pumpkins to carve and decorate for Halloween and a couple 4-5 late season watermelons.

Nothing to write home about but I plucked these two nearly ripe maters yesterday in case the coons have been eyeballing em. Lol
Wife made some fresh Pico from the garden for us all this weekend. She had to buy the maters from the Amish, but it was all fresh and amazing!
Best pico I've had in a long time!
This is mine on Tuesday. It's messy, but producing. Will be a great salsa year.

We picked a basket of Okra the over the passed week and fried it last night, my kids ate about 99% of it as my wife and I both got about 3 pieces each
