Here’s the latest pics of my lil 3 bed garden. I have 2-3 beef steak plants almost 3’ tall already and one has a lil green mater on it already. So far no more squirrels have eaten anymore plants. Hoping my peppers do better than last year. Something was eating them as well but I’m hoping the squirrel buffet has been mitigated. My berry patch really took off and I need to get in there and start tying stalks up soon.

Dry, but good here at Notta-Lotta Acres. Just put in another 2.5 rows of sweetcorn today. Will do the last 3 rows in another 2wks.

I'm liking the permanent row setup, almost no till needed,

but spreading mulch is getting old

Few updates. I am refusing to use compost or synthetics. Just my cover crop decaying and foliar treatments with organics. So far I am thrilled. Only 2% OM soil (that’ll change!).

I suckered, tied and pulled up what little weeds I had tonight. My rain gauge read we got 1.75 but my neighbor had just over an inch so I’m guessing somewhere in between. I’ve got 3-4 beef steak plants that are up to my shoulder already. One small green mater fell off plant already

Moved my garden operation this year to team up with a buddy. Getting old and lazy I reckon . Everything coming along nicely so far. We have 4- 50gallon barrels catching rainwater for watering. Couple pictures before weeded

I stuck this sucker into this vase of water about 3 weeks ago and transplanted it this past Sunday into a big pot. It came off one of my 4.5- 5’ tall beef steak plants. It’ll be interesting what it produces.

That rain helped to get things moving, and I've contributed as I can every couple of days. Today marks the end of summer planting, close to 100 pumpkins and the rest of the '22 Crimson Red Watermelon seeds that I stored.

Tonight I topped out my tallest mater plants and snipped off the stressed looking stems down low and tied up the tops. Lots of yellow blossoms showing and green maters coming along.

I’ll see what we have when we get home. I’m thinking lettuce will be the casualty….
