Last harvest of the season complete and garden debris all cleaned up. Time to figure out crop rotation/next year's planting strategy. Time to bring back sweet corn and watermelons.
We have about 30 garlic plants in the garden. They’re between 4-6” tall at this point. Haven’t checked on them for a little over a week since we’ve had snow and ice on the ground. Weather’s warming up so I’ll be seeing them here shortly.
First seedlings of 2026 have broken thru and on their journey. 2 different kinds of brocolli only right now, peppers this weekend, maters in another 2-3wks.
Had some store bought Russet's that started to sprout a few weeks back. Put em in a bag and kept them dark until cutting yesterday to chit and scab over. Gonna try these 15 in the dirt this Saturday.
First round of cherry and full tomatoes started, another round of brocolli and bell peppers sprouting.
Rd 1 of brocolli has been potted up and getting window light.
Kept the garden vibe going with a quick 1hr gap-fill work session after work, before track p/u. Beds in front are odd numbered, back row are evens. That's why 4 & 6 are corn, keep close for pollination.
Far RH open area/wet area will get turned a few times (layer of compost/manure pile added last fall) before watermelons go in.
