Ya it’s driving my wife crazy I wish I would have made rows bigger to run roller down. I just thought there might be some to kill the grass probably just have to hoe it.

Tomatoes starting to look pretty good, some Roma's have tomatoes already. Beans kinda spotty, peppers are slow starting but the potatoes are moving right along.
Just planted these in…. Gonna see how it goes
I’d pile up 4-5 more inches of top soil and compost around that mater plant BC. It’ll give it much more support when maters start to get big and hang.

Caged the tomatoes, and fertilized (Jack's) this week, looking good so far, my cherry tomato has fruit already... early girl not yet, lol
I decided to keep the garden in its current spot, but with only 50x50' fenced in moving forward. Going to let the middle low spot, 50x40', go back to grass to be mowed/help with water absorption. On the far end that is drier, 50x35', in goes watermelons and pumpkins after this 2 day rain event goes thru.
Brocolli, maters and peppers are doing well, with some black leaf spot on about 50% of the maters. The left over straw from yard seeding was not the cleanest, I chanced it anyways. I'm hopeful regular neem oil treatments will keep it at bay.
Plenty of European corn borer too, couple hits of Sevin dust will be in store

Some cucumbers, radishes, lettuce and tomatoes around the house
Did a little maintenance too stay ahead of the curve. No critters have shown an interest yet, but figured I’d throw a barrier up too persuade them not too.
Staked up all the plants that require it and moved a couple crawling plants in a direction we wanted them too go.

I'm thinking about planting some potatoes in containers - just to give it a try - is it too late to even mess with this year?

It's probably a bit late, especially with this heat that's coming. They're a cool season plant. That said, seed taters are cheap, so you might as well see what happens IMO.
